There is currently a problem with the API Key generation tool. If your Constant Contact User Name has a space in it (ie. "My Username") then you will need to change it in order to generate an API key.
Once you have generated your API Key(s), you can change your username back to it's prior value.
See this FAQ for more information on changing your Constant Contact user name.
I am trying to create a API developer key by following the link to "API Keys" which takes me to this page: http://developer.constantcontact.com/license/login
I login using my constant contact account (which is working perfectly fine, and has no spaces in it or anything and is 8 chars long). I am *not* using my developer forum user id.
Once i click "Continue >", i just get a page (with the url below) that says: https://developer.constantcontact.com/license/apiKeys
Invalid Constant Contact login information Back
Are you using your Business Partner Login or personal account login. Many of our Partners try to use the BP Login and this will fail. You must use the same login you would use at http://www.constantcontact.com/index.jsp.
The account that am using "sterizon" is both Business Partner and looks be regular account too. I can actually go into the above link you gave and successfully login with this userid. I've not yet tried going to business partner portal.
I've created another test trial account, and even with that i get the same 401 error. I've tried it from different browsers too, just to be sure. Same result.
Please help. Thanks
Have resolved the problem
the name i used wan't long enough it seems, and needs spaces
