User duplicate Email error message

I've noticed on my email capture that if an email is put in twice an Error Encounterd! Message comes up.
Before I switched to basic authentication we had a different message that would say the email address is already a member of that list.
I'm using AddAContact.php.  Any ideas how to get that message to pop up when a duplicate email is added.

This is actually an unrelated

This is actually an unrelated change to our return messages.  We are looking into adding messages back in for cases such as 409 messages (which are conflict messages that could be Contact is already a member).  The text which is displayed should actually depend on the actual information that was sent.  409 conflic messages can also occur if the information sent does not match, such as using a state code for a US state but saying the contact lives in Germany.
