Controlling what lists users see when they are un-subscribing

Is it possible to control the lists that users can see when they come on the un-subscribe page? What I mean is that if a user A is eligilbe (according to our business rule) to subscribe to only list P, Q and R, they only see P, Q, R enve though there may be other lists that are marked as available on the Mailing List Form?
Also, is there any means to customize the unsubscribe page that the users currently land on when clicking on the unsubscribe link.
Thanks in advance,

Controlling List Visability

While you cannot necessarily edit the unsubscribe page to dynamically show or hide different lists users are able to join, you do have some control over when this page will be seen.

The unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email is part of the footer that Constant Contact places there. This is not able to be changed or disabled without using a custom footer created by the Constant Contact Custom Services team. This feature is available to all customers for a fee, which is based upon the volume of work required to complete the footer.

The other way that users can unsubscribe or change their interest lists is by entering their email address in the Join My Mailing List signup form when they are already part of your mailing list. This will send them the “Update Your Profile” email, which provides them the link to make changes to their profile and list subscriptions. You could prevent this email being sent by creating your own Sign Up form using our API. This will allow you to control how customers are processed when they are already signed up for your mailing list.

Removal of the constant contact logo from the footer

Can the constant contact logo be removed from the footer (irrespective of whether we take the paid footer customization service). The Constant Contact sales rep had informed us that once we have a paid account, the footer CC logo would no longer appear in the emails that are sent out. However, even after we upgraded to a paid account, the emails that go out still have the logo.
Does something needs to be explicitly configured to get that logo off?
Thanks in advance,

Hi Moiz,   The removal of a

Hi Moiz,

The removal of a footer logo can be done by our standard Support staff.  You can call, email or chat with them and it will be done immediately for any paid account.  The other option is that you can provide me with your username (I do not recommend doing this on the forums) and I can do that for you.  Using our support staff will be faster though as they can do it live with you.

Thanks

Thanks Dave. Got it done with the customer support.

Footer customization is limited to the looks and feel

Dave,
I got in touch with the customer support team and it seems that the footer customization is more to do with the looks and feel rather than changing the target for the "unsubscribe" link. I was informed that the "Update Profile/Email address" can be customized to point to our website.
My specific questions to you are:

  1. Can the "Update Profile/Email address" link be customized so that it is parameter driven, which help us authenticate the user and take the user to their profile.
  2. Is there any work around so that "Unsubscribe" link too, brings the user to our website (instead of Constant Contact website), and we present the user with the option to unsubscribe? (This link too would need to be parameter driven for us to identify the user and the email that they are coming from?

Thanks,

Custom Footer

I too am looking to present the customer with a customized unsubscribe/update preferences link in the footer.
Do we have resolution on this?
What do I need to do to incorporate this functionality?

Hi Moiz and Ben,

We can customize the Update Profile link to be dynamic to each sent email and pull from Subscriber data.  This would allow you to create an authentication system based on your needs.

Regarding our Unsubscribe link, we do not allow this to be modified in any way at this time.  As an Email Marketing provider, we are subject to full CAN-SPAM compliance and are held responsible for ensuring all our customers follow the unsubscribe guidelines of the CAN-SPAM Act.  In order to do this, we require all unsubscribe requests made for any of our customers to be handled by us.  This allows us to confirm the unsubscribe request is processed correctly and in accordance with all US regulations.

We are in no way implying that you or any of our customers would actively try to bypass or ignore these laws.  However, we are legally responsible for these unsubscribes and at this time this is our only solution for ensuring they are processed.
